Mobile terminal is a mobile node that measures the distances from fixed nodes using ultrasonic and/or RF technology and transmit them to Base System with sensor data. Combining ultrasonic or RF sensor signals with additional sensors like accelerometer, geomagnetometer will give better performance in position recognition and function of dead-reckoning in case ultrasonic or RF sensor is not available. Other ranging technologies may replace ultrasonic or RF sensor for other applications. In that case, the additional sensors will play the same role.
